Due to the rapid increase in numbers of infected H1N1 patients in Singapore and spread of community transmission, the Singapore Ministry of Health has shifted from containment phase to mitigation phase to combat the virus. As of 6th August 2009, the total number of H1N1-related deaths in Singapore has increased to eight.

In view of the widespread global flu pandemic and higher case fatality rate (CFR) of the H1N1 virus, the following courses will be postponed till further notice:
1) Sleep Surgery Course, 16 - 18 October
2) Minimally Invasive Thyroid & Parathyroid Course, 19 - 20 October
3) Temporal Bone Dissection Course, 21 - 22 October
